Lindsay Pears

Career Profile:

Lindsay Pears was born in 1955 and grew up in Tasmania. He was educated in Launceston and Hobart before joining the Royal Australian Air Force in 1979 where he specialised in avionics systems.

After leaving the Air Force, Lindsay worked as an engineer and project manager in defence support companies including Ferranti, Computer Sciences of Australia, GEC Marconi and Rockwell before joining Boeing in 1996.

At Boeing, his work centred around management of communications and combat systems before taking senior roles in business development and strategic leadership. In January 2007 he was appointed the Vice President of Strategy and Business Development and is a graduate of the Boeing Executive Program.

Significant among his achievements have been the Scaneagle UAV system deployment, F/A-18F Superhornet program, Wide Band Global satellite for Defence and the AEW&C in service support program. He managed the advanced UAV system program for Boeing and led the implementation of Analysis, Modelling, Simulation and Experimentation facilities in support of defence concept development, fleet analysis, engineering support and international operations.

Lindsay joined Saab Technologies Australia in January 2009 as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Saab in Australia.
