Saab Australia announces new Managing Director

The President of Saab Systems business unit, Peter Wimmerström, announced today that Lindsay Pears has been selected as the new Managing Director of Saab Systems Pty Ltd. He will take up the role on 5 January, located in Adelaide.

Mr Pears has been selected because of his extensive knowledge of the Australian Defence Force and his extensive business experience. Following on from over ten years as the Vice President of Strategy and Business Development in Boeing Australia and a wide range of other appointments mostly in the defence domain, he has demonstrated a vision for strategy, leadership, and communication skills appropriate for Saab.

Saab has achieved positive growth and profitable results over its 20 years in Australia. Mr Pears has been selected to build on this solid foundation and to implement a strategy to expand Saab in Australia. Key activities, in particular a greater focus on B2B, will grow and broaden the Saab business while securing our current strong market position.

Lindsay Pears replaces Merv Davis who has been Managing Director of Saab Systems for the past five years.
